More Than Terrorism Insurance: Child Talk

For those that smugly thought terrorism was something remote, realty has unfortunately proven otherwise. For the longest time, it was a genuine need to procure international travel insurance for business employees as well as tourists and volunteers traveling overseas so that coverage would be provided against the modern evils.

Today, terror rears its ugly head not only in the troubled spots corners of Africa and Asia, but also in the western world. Europe is not immune. Certainly France and Belgium have recently suffered immensely from the extremist activity. Now we are facing a new and ugly reality in own home backyards, causing losses, and damages on personal property and human life.

While the Twin Tower catastrophe of 9/11 has paved the way for a new look at US terrorism insurance and commercial coverage, the current wave of terror related violence that has reached regions within our shores is something that no one is prepared to confront emotionally as well.

Of course those least equipped for the tragedies are the children. Indeed, the publicity these terrible acts get makes it nigh impossible to shield our young ones from the brutality of it all. How do we assuage the effects of something so troubling?

Across the board, psychiatrists and psychologists are encouraging parents and educators to hold face to face talks with kids about their fears. Tell kids that it is natural to be fearful, they say. Validate their feelings, they add. Thereafter, the professional advisers say that adults need to speak to children about ways to draw comfort and solace. Everyone needs to heal from the impact of a terror attack, ever so much more so the youngsters who cannot rely on life experience to assist them in doing so.

What to Say to a Child following a Terror Attack

Mothers, fathers and educators should encourage kids to talk about the fear they feel as a result of the events of terror that they are hearing about. In general, it is natural to be disturbed about the violence and it is equally normal to be afraid for one’s own safety.

Tell kids about how others react to the tragic chain of events. There are those so impacted by the terror that they shut themselves off from the reality of things by not responding at all. This of course is not a healthy recourse. Explain to children that it is good to let their emotions out by talking about it to parents, teachers and their buddies. Calm your child down by explaining that the violence occurred far from your home, school and any business they frequent. Explain to him or her that there is little likelihood for such a terrible thing to happen near them.

Remember to also explain that just because the bad people in this case belonged to the same religion as others or dress in the same manner as others they see does not mean all folks like that share liability for the bad. Teach your child to respect all people that do not hurt others. Encourage your child to vent his fear and anger by engaging in productive activities, like helping others – perhaps by writing notes of thanks to those that assisted the victims of a terror attack or by sending homemade drawings to them or by helping to raise money for the victims in some manner. Finally, try to get kids to follow a regular sleep and activity routine, underscoring a healthy and healing lifestyle.

7 Cs of Communication

According to the 7 Cs, communication needs to be:

1. Clear.
2. Concise.
3. Concrete.
4. Correct.
5. Coherent.
6. Complete.
7. Courteous.

In this article, we look at each of the 7 Cs of Communication, and we’ll illustrate each element with both good and bad examples.

1. Clear

When writing or speaking to someone, be clear about your goal or message. What is your purpose in communicating with this person? If you’re not sure, then your audience won’t be sure either.

To be clear, try to minimize the number of ideas in each sentence. Make sure that it’s easy for your reader to understand your meaning. People shouldn’t have to “read between the lines” and make assumptions on their own to understand what you’re trying to say.

Bad Example

Hi John,

I wanted to write you a quick note about Daniel, who’s working in your department. He’s a great asset, and I’d like to talk to you more about him when you have time.

Best,
Skip

What is this email about? Well, we’re not sure. First, if there are multiple Daniels in John’s department, John won’t know who Skip is talking about.

Good Example

Hi John,

I wanted to write you a quick note about Daniel Kedar, who’s working in your department. In recent weeks, he’s helped the IT department through several pressing deadlines on his own time.

We’ve got a tough upgrade project due to run over the next three months, and his knowledge and skills would prove invaluable. Could we please have his help with this work?

I’d appreciate speaking with you about this. When is it best to call you to discuss this further?

Best wishes,
Skip

This second message is much clearer, because the reader has the information he needs to take action.

2. Concise

When you’re concise in your communication, you stick to the point and keep it brief. Your audience doesn’t want to read six sentences when you could communicate your message in three.

• Are there any adjectives or “filler words” that you can delete? You can often eliminate words like “for instance,” “you see,” “definitely,” “kind of,” “literally,” “basically,” or “I mean.”
• Are there any unnecessary sentences?
• Have you repeated the point several times, in different ways?

Bad Example

Hi Matt,

I wanted to touch base with you about the email marketing campaign we kind of sketched out last Thursday. I really think that our target market is definitely going to want to see the company’s philanthropic efforts. I think that could make a big impact, and it would stay in their minds longer than a sales pitch.

For instance, if we talk about the company’s efforts to become sustainable, as well as the charity work we’re doing in local schools, then the people that we want to attract are going to remember our message longer. The impact will just be greater.

What do you think?
Jessica

This email is too long! There’s repetition, and there’s plenty of “filler” taking up space.

Good Example

Watch what happens when we’re concise and take out the filler words:

Hi Matt,

I wanted to quickly discuss the email marketing campaign that we analyzed last Thursday. Our target market will want to know about the company’s philanthropic efforts, especially our goals to become sustainable and help local schools.

This would make a far greater impact, and it would stay in their minds longer than a traditional sales pitch.

What do you think?
Jessica

3. Concrete

When your message is concrete, then your audience has a clear picture of what you’re telling them. There are details (but not too many!) and vivid facts, and there’s laser-like focus. Your message is solid.

Bad Example

Consider this advertising copy:

The Lunchbox Wizard will save you time every day.

A statement like this probably won’t sell many of these products. There’s no passion, no vivid detail, nothing that creates emotion, and nothing that tells people in the audience why they should care. This message isn’t concrete enough to make a difference.

Good Example

How much time do you spend every day packing your kids’ lunches? No more! Just take a complete Lunchbox Wizard from your refrigerator each day to give your kids a healthy lunch and have more time to play or read with them!

This copy is better because there are vivid images. The audience can picture spending quality time with their kids – and what parent could argue with that? And mentioning that the product is stored in the refrigerator explains how the idea is practical. The message has come alive through these details.

4. Correct

When your communication is correct, it fits your audience. And correct communication is also error-free communication.

• Do the technical terms you use fit your audience’s level of education or knowledge?

• Have you checked your writing for grammatical errors? Remember, spell checkers won’t catch everything.

• Are all names and titles spelled correctly?

Bad Example

Hi Daniel,

Thanks so much for meeting me at lunch today! I enjoyed our conservation, and I’m looking forward to moving ahead on our project. I’m sure that the two-weak deadline won’t be an issue.

Thanks again, and I’ll speak to you soon!

Best,
Jack Miller

If you read that example fast, then you might not have caught any errors. But on closer inspection, you’ll find two. Can you see them?

The first error is that the writer accidentally typed conservation instead of conversation. This common error can happen when you’re typing too fast. The other error is using weak instead of week.

Again, spell checkers won’t catch word errors like this, which is why it’s so important to proofread everything!

5. Coherent

When your communication is coherent, it’s logical. All points are connected and relevant to the main topic, and the tone and flow of the text is consistent.

Bad Example

Traci,

I wanted to write you a quick note about the report you finished last week. I gave it to Michelle to proof, and she wanted to make sure you knew about the department meeting we’re having this Friday. We’ll be creating an outline for the new employee handbook.

Thanks,
Michelle

As you can see, this email doesn’t communicate its point very well. Where is Michelle’s feedback on Traci’s report? She started to mention it, but then she changed the topic to Friday’s meeting.

Good Example

Hi Traci,

I wanted to write you a quick note about the report you finished last week. I gave it to Michelle to proof, and she let me know that there are a few changes that you’ll need to make. She’ll email you her detailed comments later this afternoon.

Thanks,
Michelle

Notice that in the good example, Michelle does not mention Friday’s meeting. This is because the meeting reminder should be an entirely separate email. This way, Traci can delete the report feedback email after she makes her changes, but save the email about the meeting as her reminder to attend. Each email has only one main topic.

6. Complete

In a complete message, the audience has everything they need to be informed and, if applicable, take action.

• Does your message include a “call to action,” so that your audience clearly knows what you want them to do?
• Have you included all relevant information – contact names, dates, times, locations, and so on?

Bad Example

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to send you all a reminder about the meeting we’re having tomorrow!

See you then,
Chris

This message is not complete, for obvious reasons. What meeting? When is it? Where? Chris has left his team without the necessary information.

Good Example

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to remind you about tomorrow’s meeting on the new telecommuting policies. The meeting will be at 10:00 a.m. in the second-level conference room. Please let me know if you can’t attend.

See you then,
Chris

7. Courteous

Courteous communication is friendly, open, and honest. There are no hidden insults or passive-aggressive tones. You keep your reader’s viewpoint in mind, and you’re empathetic to their needs.

Bad Example

Jeff,

I wanted to let you know that I don’t appreciate how your team always monopolizes the discussion at our weekly meetings. I have a lot of projects, and I really need time to get my team’s progress discussed as well. So far, thanks to your department, I haven’t been able to do that. Can you make sure they make time for me and my team next week?

Thanks,
Phil

Well, that’s hardly courteous! Messages like this can potentially start office-wide fights. And this email does nothing but create bad feelings, and lower productivity and morale. A little bit of courtesy, even in difficult situations, can go a long way.

Good Example

Hi Jeff,

I wanted to write you a quick note to ask a favor. During our weekly meetings, your team does an excellent job of highlighting their progress. But this uses some of the time available for my team to highlight theirs. I’d really appreciate it if you could give my team a little extra time each week to fully cover their progress reports.

Thanks so much, and please let me know if there’s anything I can do for you!

Best,
Phil

What a difference! This email is courteous and friendly, and it has little chance of spreading bad feelings around the office.

There are a few variations of the 7 Cs of Communication:

• Credible – Does your message improve or highlight your credibility? This is especially important when communicating with an audience that doesn’t know much about you.
• Creative – Does your message communicate creatively? Creative communication helps keep your audience engaged.

Fall Is in the Air, And So Is COLOR!

Everywhere you look there are reminders that the season is changing… and fall fashions are joining in with the reminder that its is time to think about heart-warming (and body-warming) colors. Fall fashions are immersed in COLOR! They run the gamut from shades of blue to vibrant reds and gold, deep green, warm brown and a surprise color – vivid violet (with a bit more pink than expected). You can check out the fall colors by simply Googling “Pantone fall 2016”.

To boost their “color power” this season’s makeup should also be warm and vibrant. It’s all about sultry eyes and matte lips in deep tones. Here is a short list of great fall makeup ideas.

1. bronzers

2. lip stains

3. smoky or burgundy eye shadows

4. eyebrow pencil to bring out your eyebrows, if yours are sparse

Juice Beauty has a wonderful line of makeup – I love their Haze, Phyto Pigments Cream Shadow Stick! You might want to check them out.

Here are some tips for choosing the best makeup options for any outfit this fall:

1. Oranges, golds and browns are best of olive complexions

2. Shades of blue, gray and violet are best of light skin – but be cautious of yellow violets that could make your skin sallow.

3. Try matching the flecks of color in the iris of your eye for eye shadow.

4. With any given outfit, highlight only one facial feature.

5. Use colors in a print to help determine one or two makeup shades.

6. When wearing evening/formal wear, you can use a bit heavier hand when applying your makeup.

Here are some things you might not know!

1. For an instant “teeth whitener” apply a blue-based pink lip gloss – the bluish tint will reflect onto your teeth.

2. Navy eyeliner will make the whites of your eyes appear whiter and brighter.

3. Keep your makeup fresh and safe with these “expiration date” facts.

Mascara and liquid eye liner – 3 months

Foundation, lipstick, liquid blush and eye shadow – 6 months.

Powder blush and powder eye shadows – 1 year

Fall is known for its color as leaves change and begin to drop to the ground. You too can be known for using color in a beautiful way this season. Have FUN!

Boundaries: Does Someone Need To Embrace Their Masculine Nature If They Are Unable To Say No?

If one is asked if they would like to do something, they could end up saying yes. This could show that they actually want to do what the person has suggested, and there will then have been no reason for them to say anything else.

A Wonderful Experience

This could then be a time when one will have a really good time, and once the experience has come to an end, they could end up going over what happened. It will then be only too clear that they did the right thing by saying yes.

One could even think about how they would have missed out if they had simply said no and carried on with what they were doing. They wouldn’t be feeling as they do at this time and it would have stopped them from having a great experience.

Open To the World

What this can show is that one is able to say yes to life, and to embrace the opportunities that come their way. It could then be said that one is in touch with their feminine nature and that they feel comfortable with this part of themselves.

Through being this way, it allows them to receive; whereas if this wasn’t the case, they would probably keep everything at bay. One could then be someone who observes life and is unable to experience it.

Closed Off

What this could mean is that one will have moments when they will give, but that they will rarely have moments when they receive. Naturally, this is going to cause them to be out of balance.

One may find that they often feel as though they are running on empty, and as though they live in a dessert. Their needs are rarely, if ever, going to be met, and so it is to be expected that their life will be a struggle.

Drawing the Line

Saying no is then not something that is going to be a challenge for them, but it is not going to make them happy. If they were able to not only say no but to say yes from time to time, it would allow them to embrace the other side of their nature.

Their feminine nature would end up being embraced and this would allow their life to be far more fulfilling. And whether one is a man or a woman is irrelevant; as both sexes have the masculine and feminine within them.

A Different Life

When one experiences life in this way, their life is going to be radically different to how someone experiences life when they can accept both sides. Yet if they don’t understand why there is a difference, they could come to see other people as being different.

This could then cause them to believe that someone like this is luckier than they are or more fortunate, for instance. If this was to take place, one could feel as though they have no control over their life.

The Other Side

It could then seem as though one is either able to take life in or they end up saying no most of the time. What can also take place is that one can end up saying yes practically all the time and this is going to be just as bad.

Now, this is going to allow them to embrace life to a certain degree, but what it will also mean is that one is unable to protect themselves. They are generally going to be focus on doing what other people want (or what they think they want).

Neglect

The needs of others are going to come first and their own needs are typically going to end up being overlooked. Clearly, there is a time and a place to be there for others, but if this is the norm, it will cause one to suffer.

There is the chance that one is not even aware of their own needs, and this is not going to be much of a surprise if they have been this way for a long time. They could end up believing that other people’s needs are their own.

Walked Over

One may find that there are times when saying yes won’t have a negative effect on them, and this will have a positive effect on their life. Even so, this could be something that doesn’t happen very often.

What one could be used to is being taken advantage of by others, and this is going to make it hard for them to lead a fulfilling life. It could be as if other people don’t recognise them as being a separate person.

Going Deeper

If this is how one has experienced life for as long as they can remember, it can show that what took place during their early years is defining what is taking place in their adult life. When they were younger, they have been brought up by someone who didn’t respect their boundaries.

One may have been seen as an extension of them, and this is then why they walked over them. If one spoke up about what took place and tried to stand their ground, they may have been abused and/or neglected.

Disconnected

Their masculine nature, the part of them that wasn’t willing to put up with this, had to be silenced in order for them to survive. If they didn’t do this, they would have ended up being harmed even more.

Awareness

So while this kept them alive when they were younger, it is now stopping them from being able to stand their ground and to be assertive. It is then going to be vital for them to embrace this part of themselves.

This is something that can take place with the assistance of a therapist. There might be emotional pain within them that needs to be dealt with and trauma.

Facebook ‘Fake News’ Program Needs A Special Button To Choose Reading Only Delisted Articles

Apparently, our mainstream media and major search engines and even Facebook want to censor politically right-leaning speech. That’s interesting considering that the whole idea of the Internet was to foster free-speech, expression and free-thinking ideas – well, I guess now it still does as long as those messages are left-leaning, politically correct, and progressive. After the 2016 Presidential Election, many people ask; How come the TV media got it so wrong with the polling results? How come the Internet giants replayed that same message? Why are the major holders of information using extreme propaganda techniques to meld society into some sort of mindless Borg?

Hard to say why, but it is evident that some want to limit the political opposition and march on with the agenda of Sustainability, Political Correctness, Equality, and Global Socialist Mandates to all citizens of the world – including ours. It turns out that Facebook will attempt to eliminate what they consider to be Fake News and allow users to “turn-in” questionable news to be further scrutinized and fact checked. Fact checked by whom? Simple – fact checked by mainstream media and leftist political hacks. Wow, so much for helping users get at the truth – anything that doesn’t agree with a leftist agenda will be flagged and flogged.

Isn’t this what the left-stream media did during the election? Isn’t that why Hillary Clinton lost even though the Clinton News Network and propaganda machine was working full-tilt to prop her up as the so-called “most qualified” and experienced candidate, while refusing to look into her corruption and the backroom deals to defeat her opponents like Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump? Isn’t Mark Zuckerberg the (so-called) founder of Facebook a huge Democrat Party supporter? Are we to really believe that such a fact checking scheme is going to deliver us ‘real news’ – you know like all that BS from the Cable TV mainstream news during the election?

It’s pretty obvious that if Facebook is able to quell right-wing political dissent toward the global socialist elite and Democrats then maybe they might have a chance in future elections. Realize too that Mark Zuckerberg has political aspirations himself, and Donald Trump just showed him how it is done. Face it Facebook is about to censor our news and pick and choose what we read. So, I think we should demand that Facebook list all the news that they put into the Fake News junk box and users should have the opportunity to subscribe to only that which Facebook doesn’t like, because in the end that is where the real news will be based on this scheme of theirs.

Massage in Bucharest

Recognize it! You’re busy! And so must be! That’s what life is like! But you want more than that, you want to do more for yourself and massage can help. Because massage makes more than a simple relaxation of the mind and body. It keeps your body in shape and gives you enough energy to make you enjoy a longer life better than you do it today.

Massage releases stress. At the moment, stress is a universal evil. Every time you are late, every time you avoid a car in traffic, every time you have trouble working, stress is doing his job. Each time adrenaline increases heart rate and cortisone levels and organs respond to the measure. You will be in a state of nerves and constant agitation.
When there is no release of stress, serious problems such as an upset stomach, hypertension, sleep disturbances, chest pain, or existing illness may worsen.

Some of the changes that may occur are: Anxiety, lack of concentration, depression, permanent fatigue, muscle or bone pain, sexual dysfunction, excessive sleep or insomnia

All these stress-related problems can be diminished and some can be totally eliminated by massage. The researchers concluded that a massage session can lower heart rate and blood pressure, relax your muscles and increase endorphin production. The massage also releases serotonin and dopamine and the result is a general relaxation, both physical and mental.
Our body care must be at the top of the priorities.
By adding the massage to your routine you will look much better and you will be much healthier and relaxed. Massage can improve your vitality and mood. Massage can prepare for a long and beautiful life.

Our masseuses personalize each massage session according to the needs of the individual.
Our massage parlors offer a variety of relaxation styles and techniques to help you. Apart from relaxing, massage can be a powerful ally in reducing pain, increasing energy levels, improving mental and physical performance

We recommend : HotAngels , VipZone , JadePalace , ThaiPassion

After a massage session, you will see how the mental prospects are enriched, the body allows easier handling, better pressure resistance, relaxation and mental alertness, calm and creative thinking.
When you have the impression or force yourself to stay straight, your body is not actually aligned properly. Not only does the posture look bad, but it forces some of the muscles to go muddy all day, while others become weaker. After a long time, the incorrect position may cause other drops. For example, internal organs press on what affects digestion, breathing ability is also diminished, which means that much less blood and oxygen reaches the brain and hence all sorts of other complications.

Massage allows you to return your body to the track. Allowing the body to make healthy and accurate movements is one of the greatest benefits of massage. Massage can relax and restore muscles injured by bad posture, allowing the body to position itself in a natural, painless position.
Apart from posture, there is also anxiety. One of the signs of anxiety and stress can also be heavy breathing. When the body begins to breathe too little and deeply instead of breathing at a natural rithm, it is impossible for one to relax. One reason may also be that the chest muscles and the abdomen get tightened and the air gets harder.

Massage plays an important role in learning the body how to relax and how to improve breathing. Respiratory problems such as allergies, sinuses, asthma or bronchitis are a group of conditions that can benefit from massage. In fact, massage can have a positive impact on respiratory function.

Many of the muscles in the front and back of the upper part of the body are breathing accessory. When these muscles are tight and shorten they can block normal breathing and interrupt effective breathing natural rithm. Massage techniques for stretching and relaxing these muscles improves breathing function and breathability. Massage leads to an opening of the chest as well as structural alignment and nerve dilatation that are required for optimal pulmonary function. A good way to treat respiratory problems with massage is the taping made in Swedish massage. When done on the back, along with vibrations, it can detach the mucus from the lungs and can clean the airways for better later function.

Massage not only relaxes muscles, but helps people become aware of daily stress levels. Once the body recognizes what really means relaxation, the mind can rest easily relax before the stress becomes cornice and harmful. This will help you enjoy a balanced life. Massage controls breathing, allows the mind to re-create relaxation before the occurrence of chronic and harmful stress and increases the level of energy.
